Cross off Task 98 - it is DONE.

The Review... This would be a 10/10 movie, but for one thing...

***MAJOR SPOILER*** R.I.P. Phil... ***END SPOILER***

AVENGERS has punch-the-air moments, laugh yourself silly moments, "Whoa!" moments, and a round of applause from the audience in a packed house tonight. The movie wastes no time, setting up the threat and protagonists in their own cameos... with one exception - but he shows up all on his own, and doesn't need much of an introduction (***SPOILER*** - that would be Thor. ***END SPOILER***)

Ah, what the heck - JUST GO AND SEE THE DAMN THING. It's Joss Whedon, ferfecksache. There's no need to stay to the VERY end, as usual, but hang about for a couple of minutes for something of a revelation...

Technical Issues... 3D? We don' need no steenkin' 3D. Everything just overawed you too much to notice, but was the print we got not quite the right height for the screen?

In Closing... I don't know what else to say - once I stop bouncing off the walls, I may have more coherent thoughts to share. The critics will probably go more for Prometheus, but what the hell - this kicked all kindsa ass. I LOVED IT. 9.5/10

Here we go - not long before I can declare Mission 101 Task 98
98 - See each of the "Avengers" cycle of movies on opening day! (Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America - The First Avenger (2011), Avengers (2012))
can be formally declared a *SCORE*. Let's face it - mere "rain" isn't going to be enough to stop me heading out the door in pretty much exactly twenty-four hours time - MARK. It'll have to be raining radioactive dinosaurs for me to miss this. Or worse.

Oh, and The NFL Draft is tomorrow, too. Pick Number 2 - Robert Griffin III to the Redskins - PLEASE!

And finally... Yes! Strong progress on PIRATES OF FREEPORT! I'm going to be busy these next couple of weeks...

I may be a little later in posting tomorrow. Surprise bleedin' surprise.

Okay, let's try and get this in BEFORE I start falling asleep.

For probably the first time this year, I'm giving serious thought to Mission 101 business. I will have a Task completed by the end of the month, and that will be Task 96
96 - Watch the original version of The Prisoner in its entirety (11/17)
as I'll be having a Prisoner "marathon" at the weekend. I know I'm starting to come to a point where Tasks are reaching their natural conclusions - April will see my AVENGERS movies Task
98 - See each of the "Avengers" cycle of movies on opening day! (Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America - The First Avenger (2011), Avengers (2012)) (3/4)
completed, come hell or high water (or day off!), and I've come to the conclusion that laser eye surgery isn't for me (Task 10), which means I now have an open task as the associated follow-up Task - actually undergoing said surgery - is now off the table (Task 11).

However, I may have an option to fill that slot, and score a sneaky completion - setting up a SECOND Mission, most likely to start at New Year! A good deal of my unstarted tasks will go into this "Mission II", and some of my current "Mission-long" Tasks will be repeated for the new project - I may have half my list already written, as a result!

Early days, though...

I'm kinda pissed off right now.

I am absolutely HATING this "Avengers Assemble" bullshit.

Not enough to not go and see the movie, let me make that crystal clear. There's a new trailer, and it's brimming with Awesome, but then you get to the end, and... ARRRRRRGGGGH...

It's just that... godammit, what has been DONE with "The UK Avengers" franchise lately? One mildly shitty movie in what, thirty years (which wasn't even British)? Marvel has been touting the Avengers concept pretty heavily since the teaser at the end of Iron Man. Do Marvel not trust their own marketing? Do we in the UK now call the last mainstream Marvel movie "Captain America = The First Avenger Assemble"?

"Avengers Assemble Assemble!" Yeah, that's a GREAT catchphrase.

Panic not. I'll be all right. Unless this means I have to call Mission 101 Task 98
98 - See each of the "Avengers" cycle of movies on opening day! (Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America - The First Avenger (2011), Avengers (2012))
a FAIL because the last movie in the sequence no longer exists. There is not a chance in hell that I'll go all the way to The States to see the movie because of a dumb-ass marketing brain-fart...

In Today's Episode... The Pandemonicum Symphony: Final Movement continues, as Darkhawk blazes a trail of fury across Mystalornan space - and maybe cracks are at last showing in The Pandemonicum...

Release Notes... TWO chapters to go...

Move Review: THOR...

Watch out - this could get spoiler-y... )

The Final Verdict... Some day, all super-hero movies will be made this way. Awesome, in almost every way. Majestic. Oh, and give The Warriors Three their own movie! 9.5/10
98 - See each of the "Avengers" cycle of movies on opening day! (Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America - The First Avenger (2011), Avengers (2012) (2/4))
My only complaint? Some people will insist on fannying about with their sodding phones during the movie, and those little brightly lit screens take me out of my illusion; an illusion I have paid good money for. Next time I see it happen, I will expedite with prejudice...

..."I love it when a plan comes together!"

Received... Rush ticket!
Booked... THOR seat for Bank Holiday Monday!

Aaaaaand relax - a step closer for each of Mission 101 Tasks 90 and 98!

Development News... Strong progress for TDD-701: After The Fall again today, with another event I've had in mind for... years finally committed to hard drive.

Meanwhile, stay tuned for the first step on the last leg of the journey to REIGNFALL...

Development News... I have broken ground on the first story of Season Seven - TDD-701: After The Fall! I pretty much had to, given that it's an "as the dust settles" wind-down with some genuine consequences for the future.

"Weekend Of Madness" News... Ah. So the Royal Wedding isn't 'til next week. So that means it's not quite as much of a WOM as I'd anticipated. No biggie, though - actually, it makes life a little easier.

Watching the local cinema listings for signs of a preview showing of THOR - that would comfortably count towards Mission Task 98, which is
98 - See each of the "Avengers" cycle of movies on opening day! (Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America - The First Avenger (2011), Avengers (2012) (1/4))
although the official opening day of Wednesday 27th would still suit me fine.

Talking about the Mission, I'm rather needing to score some more success now that I'm closing in on, at or just past the halfway point. My "complete some craft projects" task (52) would fit, and I could probably fit in a couple of episodes of The Prisoner some time (Task 96) every now and then...

Summer is approaching, and I must make some progress!

Yay! It's Blockbuster Season...!

Pity there's a pretty thin crop this year. However, the fight for top movie could already have been won...

Spoilers at six o'clock, Tony! )

The Low-Down: Enjoyed the first one? Here comes more of the same, and a bit more thrown in. STAY TO THE VERY, VERY END. The Road To "Avengers" really begins here! 8.5/10

*Reaches for the Mission 101 List...*
98 - See the each "Avengers" cycle of movies on opening day! (Iron Man 2 (2010), Thor (2011), Captain America - The First Avenger (2011), Avengers (2012)) (1/4)

This Just In... IRON MAN 2 booked! That's Friday evening sorted, then...

Get ready to tick a box for Mission 101, Task 98!
Development News... Yes! That's Chapter 3 done for MoN-204 "Mane-of-Night And The Day At The Races" at last. Netbook issues haven't helped, but a concerted effort has nailed down the "Race" itself; the "Main Event" that isn't the whole story. No "end of the world" stuff this time, so enjoy this more laid-back adventure - featuring a bit of long overdue partying - while it lasts...

Meanwhile... I am starting to assemble a "Wish List" of sorts - external hard drive, flat-screen monitor(s), that sort of thing... now, let's see - sensible-heeled boots...

In The News... A prospective Tory MP gets canned for say that homosexuality "isn't normal". Almost everything humans do "isn't normal" - talking in real time to someone on the other side of the world, travelling long distances without intense exertion of the leg muscles, flying, inhaling poisonous smoke for fun - shall I go on? "Not normal" doesn't mean "wrong" - show me one person who is "normal"!

The last thing anyone needs is politicial correctness closing off legitimate channels for intelligent discussion. Gods, no.
