Now this is more like it. Yes, there have been one or two household jobs to attend to, but I managed to deal with those, and extract another hard drive, this time from a dead computer. Data recovery was a complete success, and there are now two "gutted" machines beside my desk - getting closer to counting Mission 101 Task 59
59 - Learn to upgrade PCs
as a *SCORE* - I know what a graphics card looks like now. However, completing this Task will require me to install a new component into a functioning machine, and return that PC to fully functioning condition, and that's the scary part. Right now, I'm running out of operational computers - they're actually outnumbered by the Game Boys and DSes in my possession (monochrome Game Boy, DS Lite, DSi XL)...

More Mission 101 News... My first "prop" (or more rightly pair of props) for Task 88
88 - Create usable stage/screen/cosplay props of three pieces of costume or equipment from my own projects
are coming along nicely, after a mid-week complete about-turn in design. The main components are ready - just about - and all that's needed now are suitable fastenings, which may require some more knotting research.

Operation Funplex News... Gonna have a look at some potential costume options, after one spectacularly fell through last weekend (and I still have no go-ahead to send the offending item back and get my refund). Hmmm...

And Finally... They've done it again - the Rush song "Face Up" on "Roll The Bones" has "Brighthawk soundtrack" potential!

In Today's Episode... Revealed - the reason behind Talona's mystery desert mission, as we learn a little more about one mystery, and another emerges...

Release Notes... On time, as promised. In a movie or TV series, The Grey Man would most definitely be played by Seasick Steve.

This particular chapter is a classic example of spontaneous plot emergence - can you guess which element of this chapter sprung up from nowhere, creating a future story-line?

Development News... I wrote some more for TDD-606 The Ragged Edge at lunch, but last night's major focus of attention was a piece of story that may feed into continuity maybe a year from now. It's an encounter that will change everything, as a protagonist makes a truly startling revelation...

More of that nearer the time (cue maniacal laughter).

And the rest... Damn. The main computer is getting increasingly... "quirky", most likely because of its agonising lack of RAM - when I bought it, half a gig was a pretty decent amount, but since then, I've acquired two 1Gb Ram machines, and both of them work just fine, handling absolutely everything I throw at them, whilst "The Box" is now frequently tripping over itself. I do have plans to acquire better hardware, perhaps even building my own, as per

60 - Revitalise one PC, or build an entire new one
Now, craft projects - let's see if I can move ahead with one of those this weekend. I may have to consider breaking out that protable sewing machine I bought years ago, but never used yet - and that's another task on the radar...
52 - Complete some craft projects I've started

Development News... So there I was, getting to grips with Chapter 7 of TDD-605 "She Returns", when the post arrived...

Do continue... ...and once again, The Fnajing System wants to "have a chat" - or, as it's better known, attempt to fix the unemployment figures with "help".

If they can, for once, actually help, I'll be grateful. If it's going to be like last time, with the depression, the sexism, the two-faced management of the whole thing, they can shove it. It's that simple.

They have a golden opportunity to not only help me get marketable skills, but help me complete several of my Mission 101 tasks, in particular

Hey, Department of Work And Pensions - how about it?

Meanwhile... Surprise freakin' surprise - no joy for Bat For Lashes. G'Gaah No Gyakushū...

And finally...

Let's hope this is the watershed incident in the whole "assisted dying" debate. We, as a species, really need to be grown-up about this.
