Hey look, kids...

I'm a bit behind on reporting the video uploads, I know, but there's the latest, and the rest can be found at aceofthorns.co.uk. Last week got only two videos, 'cause my Long Live The Queen series has reached its "Book 1" end, although I will be playing it again sometime.

Elsewhat... Shopping. I just spent a bit of money on myself (not a huge amount), in part to make good on a Move-related promise to myself. Also... I may be heading South later this summer for a bit of a vacation...

This one is...

Previously (Tuesday/Wednesday)...

...Sunday-ish...

...and last Friday...

We are now at NINETY-SEVEN videos. Next week, at this time, it SHOULD be the magic 100!
patentdragon: (unexpected)
Oh well, that's another birthday come and gone, and this year, no movie to go and see on the day. Shame, that - but next year may just be different...

In the meantime, videos - of the Minecraft variety. Episode 14 (from Friday):

Episode 15 (from Sunday):

Tomorrow, Day 4 of a four-day weekend. Considering how Friday and a decent chunk of Saturday were taken up by sorting out a fairly substantial Minecraft malfunction, I very much feel I'm owed the Monday, bank holiday or no.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
First, yesterday's video offering...

Also, a bit of a quandry - who the hell do I vote for now? One thing is certain - it won't be the Tories, the current bunch, after they put in place MORE rules to stick the knife into the unemployed. Sign on at the Job Centre EVERY DAY? Do they get travel expenses (I suspect not)? Headline-grabbing politicians just LOVE touting tales of big TVs and fancy holidays ALL paid for from taxpayers' money, and £1000 a week "dole cheques" - anything to get voters baying for blood... all while there are STILL individuals in this country who can get their rich accountants to fiddle the figures, and get them off paying ANYTHING.

And if it's true that Scotland's "First Minister" has been speaking in glowing terms about Russia's "dear leader" Putin, then Captain SNP can go screw himself, too...
patentdragon: (unexpected)
*Gasp!* On the same day as it goes live...!

*ticks one item off the list* Now, what's next? Oh, a movie review... well, I'm not quite as up to speed as that, but I'll try and have it ready for tomorrow.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
Okay, I admit it - I have been pretty piss-poor at posting entries recently. There's been a bunch of crap screwing with my routine, and I will try to sort that out, over the Easter weekend.

For now, there's more from the Ace Of Thorns channel. Tuesday's video...

...and tonight's...

I'm also due readers another movie review - Amazing Spider-Man 2, from Wednesday. Short version: better than the first offering from the "reboot", worthy of a solid 8/10.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
Sorry for the silence, folks, but YES, I am still alive, and just about functioning. So, what's new...?

Well, for a start, there are another two videos. From Thursday (which I'll from hereon make a Friday)...

and yesterday...

As I mentioned above, I've tweaked my schedule, and the plan now is to post videos on Sunday, Tuesday and Friday, to minimise disruption to anything else I might be doing online at the time. Hopefully, I'll manage to do an update post here on the same day.

Meanwhile... technical issues. My TV is still screwed up, despite getting a new aerial, and now the laptop is making unhealthy fan-related noises. Oh, and I'm a bit stuck, room-lighting-wise - an expensive new LED bulb isn't quite cutting it...

*sighs* I hate crap like that.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
I always seem to be a day behind with these...

Elsewhat... This weekend, I managed to start and complete a series of new videos, involving the game Long Live The Queen. It may seem a bit "girly", but it's actually a pretty complex RPG-cum-Fighting Fantasy arrangement, as I hope the videos will show...

Also, holy crap, are snippets of phone footage and photos pretty much pouring from the various sets for AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON - we actually managed to see two "new" characters in those images BEFORE their on-screen debut in the mid-title sequence for CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, a movie that does seem to have pleased the great majority of those going to see it.

And rightly so!
patentdragon: (unexpected)
Note to self: must remember to do some more of those custom thumbnails...

I could also do with running off some more completed videos, for Season Three, 'cause I'm really needing the hard drive space - although I could just buy some more...

Meanwhile... Getting ready for wednesday, and the "kick-off" for the 2014 "Season" - Blockbuster Season, that is, and it's going to be a busy one over the next few months!
patentdragon: (unexpected)
Yesterday... The third of FIFTY (episodes of ...EDGE OF CHAOS that is)...

- complete with nifty customer thumbnail, of which I still have about forty-five to do. Things are genuinely looking more "professional" now - although I 1) need to finish my DUNGEON MASTER series, and 2) find more games to play - I do have Long Live The Queen, which should be fun, and there's a Game Of Thrones game coming sometime soon, too...

Talking of which... Damn, that's FOUR books read now, and there's not one moment where you feel even remotely disappointed, even when long-standing characters get it in the neck... or the gut... I think you get the general idea. Messy - and it really does seem as though NO-ONE is truly safe. Impressive.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
ITEM! I now have THIRTY NINE episodes of EDGE OF CHAOS ready to post, and there ARE going to be yet more! Best estimate so far is 44...

ITEM! Thinking about a special Spiritwalk outing - X-Men - Days Of Future Past apparently opens on that day, just a week after GODZILLA...

Also, there should be exams to oversee about that time. Tricky.

ITEM! Absolutely DEVOURING the books that have become the monster hit TV series Game Of Thrones - on satellite TV. I'm more than halfway through the fourth book - officially the second part of the third book - and holy shit do the "hits" just keep on coming! Compelling stuff, in a classic example of a fantasy world that has been crafted with great, and loving care.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
How about "THIRTY-SIX episodes and rising"...? I'm keeping them generally to 15 minutes or so, but Episode Thirty-Seven just HAS to be a bonus-length (dare I say "feature-length"?) episode.

Guess this season is going to run about as long as the first...
patentdragon: (unexpected)
This Just In... Production of EDGE OF CHAOS draws closer to completion - once I get through all this quarry-related material, that is.

I really want to get back to actually playing games, but I also need the hard drive space to do recordings... which is why I'm ploughing through Season 2, and I'll probably be heading into Season 3 pretty soon after that is done. Things are going to start getting trickier to fit in shortly, with the start of 2014's "blockbuster season" just around the corner - it's only SEVENTEEN DAYS to CAPTAIN AMERICA - THE WINTER SOLDIER...!

Better get ready to make my IMAX booking.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
I've been hard at work churning out more episodes for Stargazer Season 2, following on from what was left of my weekend, and Chapter 28 is just now rendering. I'd been thinking I'd be able to round things off at thirty chapters, but it's looking to end up at more like thirty-five, by my reckoning. I'm doing my very best to keep videos around the 15 minute mark, and that sometimes means cliff-hangers...

Meanwhile... Arrrrgh! Everyone on YouTube is doing South Park: The Stick Of Truth play-throughs! This is something I really want to play, but right now, I'm not shelling out £40. Nope, not happening.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
The video...

I would have more videos set for release, but I had a birthday do to attend. I'm being quite strict with the actual content, skipping sizable chunks where they simply don't serve any real purpose for the sake of the general storyline, which means I could have Season 2 lined up for posting in its entirety sooner than I expected! There was a lot of travelling done, I recall, and that could definitely go...

Next week will probably be better.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
It has been a good weekend. Good in that i have posted the first of the new Stargazer Project videos:-

...and there's another FOURTEEN ready to roll.

Niiiiice.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
Episode 1 of "The Stargazer Project: Edge Of Chaos" is rendering as I write.

There. Just like I said.

I hope to have a bunch more done over the next few days, so I have a multi-episode "buffer" in place to cover me for any unexpected delays. Could be that Episode 1 gets posted tomorrow...
patentdragon: (unexpected)
Guess it's time to stop tripping over myself, and get some new videos put together. I have the footage for ...Stargazer Season 2, so I just need to set aside the uninterrupted time to get the editing and other post-production done. The weekend, I'm thinking - probably kicking off on Friday night...

Stay tuned to see how close to reality THAT plan is!
patentdragon: (unexpected)
Did I ever mention my possible alternate title for Gravity...?

*deep breath* ...Kerbal Space Program: The Movie. Haven't actually played that in a few months, after getting pissed off about a continual (hopefully a) bug - wonder if they fixed it?

*gasp* I now have a Christmas list...!

Also... Ooooohkay, so that's Stargazer Season Two done. In about a week. I just came to the perfect moment for a transition to a whole new setting and theme, so *BAM* down go the shutters on Season Two, and Hello Season THREE.

Gonna be fun.
patentdragon: (unexpected)
A big day for incoming post - that's a big bit of Christmas shopping done... and I am now in possession of a pretty sweeeet new pair of boots, in prefect timing for Patent Saturday. Excellent!

Yeah, it's been another thin week on the blogging front, but The Stargazer Project - Season 2: The Edge Of Chaos has been getting, and holding, the majority of my attention. It doesn't help that the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special is TOMORROW, and that next week - and the week following - will be dominated by "PatSat"...

Excellent viewing last night: An Adventure In Space And Time, dramatising the origins of the phenomenon that has been - and, I am certain, continue to be - Doctor Who.

What's that? A Gravity review? Oh crap, I have rather dropped that ball...

...ok, a quick one: A good reality-based space disaster movie, that makes the silence of space a character in its own right. Somehow, I was expecting MORE, such as 3D that would genuinely dazzle, but that was not to be. Movie Of The Year? Naaah - a solid 8/10, but all-out space opera (Star Trek Into Darkness!) wins out in that respect.

Look for the tie-in short movie that's going around, which provides an insight into the other end of a conversation in the main movie. It's very effective.

There. Not my best, but it's that or nothing!
