Talk about a "perfect storm" - the wind must be driving cold air right at my office window, 'cause I just can't sit in there right now. The weather report says 9 degrees C minimum for this area - I say BOLLOCKS.

Oh, come on - it's still August, dammit. We had the fire on in the living room.

I'd bring the laptop through, hook it up for a DVD, but I know I'd fall asleep. I do have some Fan-Trek on the trusty netbook, but even that may be too much. My enthusiasm seems to be frozen...

...buuuuuut, I did get my sections of book-cover cut for my Mission 101 book-making task before the weather turned. A bit of work tomorrow, and I could be well on my way to ticking off Task 85!

Okay, time for some entertainment before I power down, and try some writing. At least that seemes to be working out for me right now.

Still waking up at 0600, even at weekends - I hate this crap, but I'm not going to waste the time. I typed up some stuff I've been writing (both in bed, still), and worked beyond the limits of that before doing a netbook update or three, and some web-stuff (including this!) Sadly, the problems with "The Bug Menace" are still getting on my nerves, it seems, and I find it hard to really enjoy anything - or make good on my "ten Tasks advanced in a fortnight" thing. My Mission 101 has really suffered this "summer" (ha!), which is even worse when it should be the time I do the most towards it.

Also, when I try to relax and watch something - fan-Trek, mostly - I find myself falling asleep at the computer! I've twice tried to watch the feature-length Operation Beta Shield - featuring our own "local heroes" from Dundee, Star Trek - Intrepid - but I still don't think I've seen it all.

*sighs* Getting up now. Not particularly breakfast-hungry. Or "Sunday-hungry" either...

Someone shared something with me today that I'm thinking won't be told to everyone. Makes my "problems" seem pretty damn trivial...

Not wanting to dwell on things I can't expand upon, or matters I can't "punch through" on just yet, I'll instead address today's news:

Bong! (heh) I have *gasp* completed Chapter 3 of TDD-702! Exactly where things go from here remain to be seen, but at least I made use of my unintentional "early start".

Bong! Shopping trip tomorrow, heavy on the Mission 101 objectives. I should, with any luck, have everything I need to complete at least one Task by this time tomorrow.

Bong! Been trying to fill in the gaps in my "watch list" for "home-brew" Star Trek, but that's always when the 6 O'Clock Wake-Up catches up with me. Sorry, Hidden Frontier, it's absolutely nothing personal... as the extended time this post is taking to write should should make quite plain.

Better call it quits now, before I head-butt the laptop...

Oh yeah, one last one: Bong! It's bloody raining AGAIN!

...and there's plenty more Babylon 5 where that came from. I've also managed to complete my download of the full story inventory for Star Trek Hidden Frontier, weighing in at 50 or so episodes - thank you, Soon To Be Ex-Broadband Supplier.

Yup, we're bugging out and switching. This wasn't the deal I'd been after, and it could have been suitable had it not been for the goofed-up phone service that came with it - just what we'd wanted to avoid. This "trial period" is almost over, and the moment is approaching for me to regain control over the situation, securing the broadband-only deal I'd been going to get before *ahem* someone went and got suckered into signing up... but enough of that.

In the meantime... My lie-in was aborted by a call to be a good neighbour, so I'll try again tomorrow. Plans to get some writing done suffered as well, partly as a result of that, and most of the evening was devoted to getting my system up to spec. The current chapter of MoN-202 "Mane-of-Night And The Watcher From Beyond" is being rather problematic, and that's just the kind of log-jam that's hard to shift by just banging your head against it over and over again.

A quiet week would go down nicely just about now. Any chance of that...?
