In the style of Peter Griffin... Tssss - aaah! Tssss - aaah! Tssss - aaah...!

So. I'm first into the exam room this afternoon, and the raised platform at the end jumps up to greet me. Don't you feel stupid when that happens?

Anyway... once that was out of the way, things went fine, although I wished I'd known they'd had staff deficiencies in the morning, 'cause I'd have taken that shift too. Some good writing was also forthcoming, bringing me close to the end of TDD-605 "She Returns", Chapter 3. I might use tomorrow for Season 6 development, if I've managed to complete Chapter 3 by then.

No Fecking Justice... A man who defended himself and his family against a burglar doesn't get an appeal against his jail term, and a famous bus-riding cat is killed by a car... sometimes, the world just sucks.

And don't get me started about all the "celebrities" lining up to play for a Haiti benefit concert (linkables strangely lacking - funny, that) - and who'll fail spectacularly to open their own wallets whilst urging us to cough up - and the "UN climate experts" who got it wrong, and still expect us to believe them without question...

Bah, I'm done. Two short, final sessions tomorrow - only one session short of a full exam diet. Yay!

From NASA pic...

-23 Degrees Centigrade. That's the lowest temperature recorded in the UK for as long as I can remember, and maybe even much longer. That's definitely going to affect my work schedule - I can see me using buses to get to my venue, and when I get there, the place might even be closed 'cause it'll be too expensive to heat. There's talk secondary school exams are certain to be hit, and universities surely can't be far behind - we may have gotten off lightly on the snow front, but it still gets BLOODY COLD, and there's about nine more days of this, according to the weather bigwigs...

Holy crap... This isn't just "winter", this is worse than anything we were possibly ready for, thanks to the "global warming" panic-mongers. Councils are supposed to "ration" grit and salt? ARE THE GOVERNMENT INSANE?

I'm just thinking we should be glad we have still have some of our Christmas excess to live off...

*dreams of cooked breakfasts and hot chocolate...*

I'm not in the best of moods, so I'm gonna bitch about something for a bit.

Meanwhile... BBC discussion programme Question Time is a right laugh, every now and again, particular when someone dares to suggest that "Global Warming" isn't the untouchable Holy Grail "the experts" would like it to be. Dissent, and you're as bad as a Holocaust denier. Personally, I accept that climate change is happening right now, because it always has been - I'm sure I've already ranted about the last Ice Age, and how it couldn't have been cavemen in their gas-guzzling people-carriers, leaving their TV sets on stand-by that cause the climate change that melted the glaciers covering half the freakin' planet.

Evidence? You want evidence? How about the fossil coral reefs halfway up mountains, and Arthropleura - 300 million years ago, my neighbourhood was crawling with them; giant millipedes as long as an estate car. How come we don't have those any more? Simple - back in the Upper Carboniferous Period, the oxygen content of the air was significantly higher, allowing invertebrates to grow substantially larger than they do today. If that isn't "climate change", what is it...?

It was good to see at least someone ask just what we're doing to ensure humanity survives the impending climatic chaos - what if we can't fix it overnight with all your bloody windmills and "carbon off-setting"? Shoddy thinking, people - just plain shoddy.

And finally.. ...and just to piss me off, this is going to have a Friday posting date, again messing up my attempts to post as close to an entry-a-day. Grrr...

Hmph - drugs for knee, and an x-ray tomorrow. I suspect gutting property will be to blame for any damage, as opposed to any recreational activities.

Cross Thursday off the "uninterrupted days" list for this week. Think I might just watch some more Star Maidens.

Spiteful rantlet... Ah, quit your fricking whining about the snow, England. What you've had is a fraction of what Scotland used to get - and if the Gulf Stream gives out due to the melting Arctic ice, you'll be seeing a lot more of it...
