The List | Previous Updates: 2010
January - February - March - April - May - June - July - August - September - October - November...
The SCORE! Column... You may just be able to see the results of Task 62 - Totally revise my blog template - it's not a "by-hand" make-over, and I may still do some CSS modifications, but I bit the bullet, and there it is. I've also switched to an age-limited journal, just to avoid people stumbling over my occasional "colourful metaphors". Hope that's not a problem - and the same could be said of my enormous tag list...
Ch-ch-ch-changes... Okay, this is something I haven't done before - totally scrap a task. Task 64 - Try and run an RP thread on Gaia has been binned as that site takes a more irresponible attitude to *ugh* smoking-related items - I've blogged about it, and will say no more. A slot now lies open, which I will fill with the next task that comes to mind, hopefully before the New Year.
Progress...
My cooking and movie-watching tasks haven't seen any progress since last time, but I do have several movies recorded to watch for Task 28 - Watch a classic movie for each month of my Mission's duration, and Christmas will present me with several dinner opportunities, even if they're just heating up left-overs.
On a more positive note, I now have a third concert lined up for Task 90 - Go to at least five concerts (2/5) - Rush are in Glasgow on May 14th - and I might just be able to count an event this weekend coming as a proper 3rd semi-SCORE and a full SCORE for 14 - Take Mum to the University Christmas performance of Handel's Messiah at least once (if the weather is kind to us, that is)!
I was hoping to have 87 - Get a decent computer desk that DOESN'T have a metal frame! SCOREd as well this month, but the snow has impeded delivery of the desk I won at auction last week to my home-to-be. Oh well, at least I have one Task to declare done for next month.
One minor SCORE I can definitely count for December is 65 - Celebrate each and every Spiritwalk (May 22) and Patent Saturday (December 1) like they really mean something (which they do!) (1/3, 0/2) - I'm enjoying the second of my annual personal "holidays" right now! More on that next month.
In closing... It's not been the strongest of months, and the latter part of 2010 has been something of a struggle, but once house-moving matters are addressed, and dates for that finally finalised, maybe the path will smooth out somewhat. I'll be looking at my list for Tasks I can nail down over the festive period, and tackle them when I have the free time - which has been a bit thin on the ground for quite a bit of the year, and I'm hoping 2011 will go much the same way.
It's been a good year, for a change. Next month, I'll go through the year as a whole, highlighting the positives and negatives from my first year on the Mission 101 trail. Have a good Christmas, Missioneers - and see you in 2011!
