Well, there you have it - that whack-job priest who wanted to burn a Koran on the anniversary of 9/11 got one of his mates to do it last week, and now some UN aid workers - at least eight - in Afghanistan are dead. Isn't that just fabulous?

Today's Bonus Feature... Courtesy of Barcode Generator.org, this post features a new userpic, in the form of a QR code that, if scanned correctly by a suitably enabled device, provides a link to thepatentdragon.com! Don't believe me? There's a decoding facility there, too!

Development News... Work continues on Chapter 8 of TDD-612 REIGNFALL, and a play on my "play-by-play" list is pretty close to being crossed off. Had something else on my mind for much of the day (no panic), so maybe I didn't get as much done as I might've, but a bit of a lie-in tomorrow should make up for that.

I'm not going to get stressed about it. It's not like I've got a schedule that needs a chapter tomorrow, or a story that needs finished by the end of next week - although I could actually make that deadline, if it applied. There's Move stuff to deal with tomorrow, but I could still make a good dent in what needs to be done.

If I keep my mind on it, and not "Task 103"...

Think I can blame The Guild for that. And Scott Pilgrim.

In The News... In the words of a cut-away from Family Guy: "Damn, nature - you scary..."

I woke up to the news of the Japanese earthquake, and some of the footage makes you realise how insignificant nature can make all of Man's works. "Insignificant" as in washing great heaps of it away just like that - it wasn't the earthquake that did the damage, it was the freaking tsunami afterwards.

Best of luck to Japan. There'll be a lot of people needing it.

Development News... I'm maintaining production on TDD-612 REIGNFALL, Chapter 2, by way of a short section featuring a supporting character, leading into some of the main events of this tale. I would like some solid development time, and I may just get that, after another house viewing, and possibly Battle: LA - Sunday looks clear...

But first, this.

Development News... There it is - ground is officially broken on TDD-612 REIGNFALL. Chapter 1 ties up things from TDD-611, and lays the foundations for the battle to come...

And now - comics... DC, you have a major motion picture just a few months away, but why is Green Lantern failing to entirely grab me right now? I know there are matters spinning off from Brightest Day to cover, and further important events brewing, but come on, you need to inject some urgency, some momentum, and a whole bunch of talking doesn't cut it. Brightest Day is the stronger title at the moment, and that has an actual climax just three issues away.

For Marvel, the highlight right now seems to be Avengers Academy, in which plans to prevent young dysfunctional superbeings from going off the rails are hitting a rough patch.

Elsewhat... Dammit, why is the Saturday matinee showing of Battle: LA not on the big screen? Every other showing is, and early Saturday's the only time I can fit it in. Some people do actually work during the week, y'know - please don't make a habit of this as we head into Blockbuster Season, okay?

And finally... I've been enjoying web-series The Guild. A lot...

Started using a new notebook, and somehow, the day went really well. Work was hassle-free, the dentist appointment was without drama, I cooked dinner; not a lot to write home about - funny how that's just what I'm doing right now (sort of).

So, to this evening - background sounds by Shrek 3; a leisurely trawl through Amazon, with a view to throwing together a quick order, but ending up adding more stuff to the Wish List; and fine-tune the latest work on TDD-609 ...Second Movement. For an "episode" that was supposed to get the lead character back to the centre of things, it doesn't feature as much Darkhawk as I'd like so far - but then this is the "quiet before the storm"...

Meanwhile, I'm wanting to pull together a "push list" for my Mission 101 - a sub-list featuring the tasks that need the least amount of application to complete. January is over, and it's time to get serious. What better way to blow away the winter "blues"?

And finally... Letting two domains lapse this month, due to lack of accessibility. Looks like I'll be busy archiving stuff this week and next.

Oh, and my usual pen supplier no longer stocks my writing implement of choice (Zebra Z-1 1.0mm). Dammit...
