In Today's Episode: Revealed in
The Darkhawk Diaries - Medrox's and Omiga's "grand scheme"... or is it?
This story is moving towards its conclusion, and the way is almost clear to advance things significantly with what is to come
In Today's Headline -
Ooooh, how big and hard of you... A variety of acts at this year's Edinburgh Festival are apparently going to blatantly break Scotland's recently-passed law on smoking in enclosed public spaces, branding the ban as "censorship". One of the most vocal is Mel Smith, once a well-known British comedian who'll be playing Churchill in a play at the festival, who said:
"I've often wondered what the Scottish Parliament does. Maybe this is an opportunity for me to find out. The thing I would like to say about it is that it would have delighted Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler, as you know, was anti-smoking. You couldn't smoke at Adolf Hitler's dining table, so he'd be pleased, wouldn't he? Congratulations Scotland."
(from this site... (material not endorsed by this writer))Oh, so being anti-smoking makes me a Nazi, eh? Who exactly was it, pray tell, that used lethal chemicals on a whole bunch of people in an enclosed space - again, and again...
and again, several million times? Is this an over-reaction to a washed-up comedian's desperate attempt for some publicity, perhaps? Like it or not, giving your audience an increased risk of cancer isn't
fucking art.
Sorry, that just pulled my chain. Think I'll give the Festival a miss, somehow.
Anything else...? Funny how The System tells me earlier in the year that it would be really, really difficult to get a work placement at the local University, but
now it's actually easier to get in with the Uni (not yet confirmed, but likely) than it is to get back on the placement I'd already started at the public library in town.
Insane. Trying to understand these people is sometimes like trying to decipher
Lost.
It was hot today, but nothing like as bad as yesterday, with occasional breaks in the heat, and a refreshing breeze. Pity that didn't help my FTP troubles.
Meanwhile... Think I'll carry on watching the "
Rush In Rio" DVD. It was way too hot to do anything else last night, and a satisying change from staring at the same old web-pages for a couple of hours...
...although I
did find out that there's a group doing
Star Trek fan-episodes just next door in Dundee -
Star Trek - Intrepid. Interesting; wonder if the library will allow me to access the downloads, via their handy-dandy broadband connection...?
Something to do tomorrow, I guess, as well as paving the way to
"Lockdown".
Okay -
Rush, then bed.
