Mission 101 Task 64 is formally a FAIL. And I have already paid my £1 charity penalty for it, before I'd decided, last night, that this one was "out of the park".
I failed this one before it was decided on, to be honest. So much shite has accumulated in unseen corners that with just today to go before the new owners of 99 get the keys, we are still clearing stuff out. The last two days have been almost twelve hours solid, following the clearing of the attic, and some hard decisions have been made on what to keep, and what to either throw out, or pass on to someone else...
Back at the ranch... And to add to all that, there's a damp patch on my office ceiling. The roof needs major work, that we already knew, but the rain this week made its presence known a couple of nights back - and that was very nearly the last straw for me. Given that I have absolutely zero alternatives, I've had to make peace with the situation, and bear the whole business as best I can. Remedial work is, I'm told, forthcoming.
At least the Euro-Millions lottery has rolled over again. There's hope yet.
Needless to say, writing has taken a fairly remote back seat these last few days... but I have still managed to break ground on the new season of The Secret Adventures of Mane-of-Night! An idea came to me during a chucking-out session, and I managed to hang on to the concept until I got home, and could make a start on it. Hopefully, there'll be something to post soon, maybe even just a single chapter, but first there is The Brighthawk Diaries/Dominion material to run, as two consecutive episodes (TDD-700 and TDD-701).
Further writing will have to fit around a major de-shite-ing at Base Camp, and the intensive scanning of papers I've recovered, code-named "The Great Archive". I may even have to get another external hard-drive to act as a base of operations...
