Hm. I seem to be a bit ahead of myself, somehow. It's a novel experience, given my recent record...

ITEM! Bloody hell, are there truly NO new TV ideas left? A cookery show, featuring giant versions of popular dishes? And there's NO South Park? Oh please.

HOLD EVERYTHING.

ITEM! This JUST in...Is this too much to hope for? "ElfQuest Movie May Live Again"? Oh please, YES. I always thought that chickening out in the face of The Hobbit was a bullsh8 excuse...

ITEM! Comics time again, and the first tricklings of Marvel NOW!, in the form of Uncanny Avengers. Not exactly young audience-friendly, but I very much liked it. Not seeing any "New 52" screwing with continuity, which is a big "plus".

ITEM! What's this? A sensible time-slot for the trimmed-down version of Monday Night Football? If this becomes a regular thing, it will be especially welcome.

Sooooo..., Operation Haphazard - success or train-wreck? Actually, does it really matter? In general, a good time was had by all, and yes, I could have done a good deal more had I been on my own, but there was plenty of Good Stuff, so I'll stop whining right there. It was all relatively painless, I completed a few Mission Tasks... oh, and the new phone I got has all the features I was looking for after all. Yup, a decent "win"

Now that I've got that out of my system, there's plenty more to look forward to: Dredd 3D at the weekend, an extended outing the following weekend (and more Mission completion action)... and maybe even some writing as I work towards WORLDS COLLIDE. There's even *gasp* the imminent release of NEW Elfquest...!

Been working some more on ...Mane-of-Night: Dancers of Freeport, and the story is getting ever closer to its conclusion. I'm not 100% satisfied with this last chapter at present, but I have time to work on it, given that there's no immediate posting-date in mind.

Part of the problem is an increasingly-congested "Coming Soon" list, as this story is the first part of something larger - and that's what I'd been hoping to avoid.

Prisoner Watch... I'm continuing with
96 - Watch the original version of The Prisoner in its entirety (9/17)
and the halfway mark has just been passed! It's a bit frustrating that the episode order on this boxed set is out of whack - all of a sudden, Number 6 is "new in town" again, and "straining at the bit", after a string of episodes where he's been more canny, and "playing the game". It's not too big a problem, but still, it's there.

Meanwhile... I've not had much time to think about the whole Elfquest movie thing. I mean, are people really going to get confused by two movies for which "vaguely similar" barely seems to fit - I mean yes, there are elves in both, but any "quest" in The Hobbit pales into insignificance compared to the main story-line of Lord Of The Rings. LOTR already has an established world, set up by the three biggest movies of all time before Avatar came along, and both parts of The Hobbit are midway through production, whilst any EQ movie is a LOOOOOONG way from getting in front of any cameras...

Of course, the property is now out there for anyone to take on, and given the positive buzz about The Hobbit, Game Of Thrones and the like, someone might want to take a shot at bringing Cutter and tribe to the big screen to capitalise on that renewed upswell in fantasy fiction. Hey, get Guillermo del Toro to do it - Doug (Abe Sapien/The Faun) Jones for Lord Voll, and (dare I say it) Morena (my Number 1 pick for Mane-of-Night) Baccarin for Winnowill...!
