Britain has lost 95% of its water vole population in the last twenty five years. Wonder why that is?

Global warming? Naaah.

Pollution? Nope.

The huge number of mink released into the wild by the so-called "animal rights campaigners" over the years...?

Now we may just be on to something. It's also interesting how the media seem so very keen to blame this on "escapes" from fur farms, but I distinctly remember the delighted reaction of the "animal liberationists" to their "victory" when thousands of these non-native predators were unleashed on the British countryside by their "freedom fighters". Guess they couldn't be arsed to find out what kind of ecological impact that would have on a predator-deficient british animal population. Bye bye otters, bye bye nesting sea-birds, bye bye voles...

...but at least the mink are free. Oh joy.

Must remember to ask the next bunch of "protestors" I come across what they're doing to save the voles. Their response will be the most hypocritical bullshit ever heard.

I may have covered this story before, but now there are actual figures to go on, and it's pretty scary.
