Personal Perspective
20 Nov 2006 23:09I was going to lay into a few items from the news, but is there really a point? About the only story that caught my attention was the one about the British Airways employee who risks losing her job in a fight for the "right" to wear a Christian cross - she should be allowed to wear what she wants, so long as she doesn't start lecturing to the people she meets checking in at the airport. As long as they just do their job, and I can actually see the face of the employee, their religious paraphenalia doesn't bother me.
Oh yeah, and there's this - does anyone truly give a shit if Saddam's conviction was "unsafe"? At least he got a trial of sorts, which is a hell of a lot more than any of his victims got. And as far as executing him goes, the terrorists will find some screwball excuse to carry on attacking us, no matter whether he lives or dies. They certainly didn't listen to his letter asking the factions in Iraq to join together for the benefit of their country, did they?
Of course, I have plenty more to do than bitch about the news, so excuse me if I go ahead and get on with that.
And Finally... Bullying is NOT "just part of life". My niece/nephew to be will never be bullied. I will make sure of it.
