2012
January - February - March - April - May - June - July - August - September...
Backdated: Following in-depth calculation, I've determined that I completed Task 3 - Complete at least 100 worthwhile walks (at least one hour outdoors) a year (165/100, 133/100, 75+/75) in mid-May!
This Month: There has been a good amount of September-specific success, namely *SCORE*s for:-
- 4 - Walk to another town and back in a day (15-09-2012) as I walked to the venue of the local annual air display and back...
- 29 - Buy a book a month from an actual bookshop (33/33) (20-09-2012) - okay, I didn't quite hit the "one a month" target, but I did purchase the total number of books, and I now have a good stock of reading material. Maybe now, I'll have the chance to read some of it...
- 42 - Get comic orders in more promptly, as the September order made it back to the supplier a good week before the deadline. Talking of which... guess what today is?
The Final Round-Up... Was it really 1001 days since I started this? It doesn't feel like it - but before I go into any kind of post-mortem, there are a few Mission-long Tasks that have come to fruition on this day. They are:-
- 6 - Save lie-ins for weekends only. That's become a lot easier to complete, given that I've spent the majority of this Mission in an employed condition.
- 9 - Cook dinner at least once a month. I have somewhat lost track of this a bit, but I'm pretty sure I made the grade. I'm much more comfortable cooking now, and handling raw ingredients, so that's a victory in itself.
- 11 - Commit to "The Gap Year" (Mission 101.1) More on this later...
- 13 - Provide genuine support for Mum as she deals with her "health issue". She's just started the process of giving up smoking, but I'm doing my best. No troubles so far!
- 17 - See a lot more of Jan! We moved. This then became the easiest Task to complete.
- 26 - Get more familiar with my home town - street names and the like. If someone asks me for directions, I now feel more able to show the questioner the way.
- 45 - Make regular progress on current and forthcoming "projects". I could be doing more, but new equipment (the smartphone) is making the writing process more accessible, and is taking a step out of the procedure.
- 55 - Take more photographs. And the smartphone delivers again, with its camera. Finally, I'm carrying a camera all the time.
- 57 - Design and establish new personal web-site, with actual content - thepatentdragon.com So far, this domain serves as the "hub" for several blogs
[maybe 59 - Learn to upgrade PCs. I've broken that wall of squeamishness, but not carried out any actual upgrades. Think I have to pass on this one.]
- 61 - Sharpen my HTML/CSS skills.
- 63 - Do some more RP in Ultima Online. I regularly attend, and compete in, the ECL battle chicken-lizard Tournament, manning the bar at the S&S every week... about the best I can do.
- 69 - ...and visit (charity shops) regularly for useful materials and items. These forays aren't always fruitful, but I at least grasp the opportunity when the mood takes me. One day, I may just find something really special.
- 86 - Properly ... chronicle my efforts! It's half a task, but posting these reports every month nets me a complete *SCORE*, and brings me up to a good round number.
And that final score iiiiis...
...46/101.
I'm not counting 82 - Give £1 to charity for every task not completed, and an additional £10 for every 10 not completed as finished because I don't have a final total until the very end, but £37 is already paid out, and the rest will be done by year's end. Promise.
Now, why is my finished total not any higher? That, Dear Reader, is another story...
