I really ought to just shut up, sometimes. Things in the bedroom are a LOT worse than I imagined. The carpet is wet, and there has been some damage incurred - to only one book, yes, but still it's a pain in the ass.
Sometimes I wonder whether this house hates me.

Yeah, I got side-tracked. At least the rain stayed off for most of the day, and allowed things to dray out... well, almost not at all. The office corner got worse, but not "puddles on the carpet" worse...
