patentdragonHighlight of The Evening... Smallville: "Absolute Justice" Part 2. One of the problems with digital TV is that sometimes, you can't see the wood for the trees - there is just too much stuff on TV! You spend so much time looking for something to watch that you end up getting "listings fatigue", and completely miss stuff you'd have stayed in for specially, pre-digital.
Smallville has been a casualty of just that kind of oversight, not helped by the fact that Channel 4, and its weekend slots, pretty much abandoned the show for a couple of years - although not as badly as with Stargate SG-1 *growls*. I've missed a chunk of Season Seven, the majority of Season Eight, and several episodes from the currently screening Season Nine... but tonight I did manage to see the conclusion of the "Absolute Justice" two-parter, written by comics genius Geoff Johns. This one, fanboys and fangirls, pretty much had it all... Checkmate, Amanda Waller (liking Pam Grier in the role), the Justice Society of America - featuring a great rendition of Doctor Fate and Michael (Stargate SG-1) Shanks as Carter Hall/Hawkman...
If the rest of the season can live up to this, even vaguely, it'll be well worth that little extra effort to watch. I just hope I can fit it in alongside CSI Miami, and all the episodes of Sherlock and The Deep I've not managed to catch when broadcast. Thank the gods there's not a Star Trek or Doctor Who around to complicate things.
Meh. Dropping off again. Guess I can scratch any TV catch-up tonight...
