Now It's Personal.
16 Jun 2010 22:08Now this is beyond a joke...
I'll just quote, for the second time, the Council official who seems to be the "go-to girl" for all things CLAN-related...
They're going to turn up on our back door-step, just like last time, and we're apparently not allowed to go into the field, or go anywhere near the school? Some measures I can understand, such as to protect attendees' vehicles in the "car parking area", but this is simply a step too far.
As far as I can see, the time for talk is effectively over, whether CLAN choose to meet with residents or not. I'm thinking the best way to mobilise the neighbourhood is to go door-to-door... and encourage people to attend the next Community Engagement meeting at the school - just two days before CLAN kick off. I'd like to see their security stop people attending that; all it would take to make that really interesting would be to call the officers who run the meetings...
I'd go as far as to say that this seems to be getting personal. My response at this point...?

"CLAN have produced a very robust health & safety plan and the Police and Fire & Rescue Service are satisfied with this. There will also be, as in past years, a strict security protocol with attendees only allowed access to the venue, with stewards and security on duty. In addition, this year if anyone tries to enter the venue grounds without the appropriate identity badge, they will be asked to leave, and if they do not do so the police will be called and they will be ejected. All Fife Council officers who need to gain access will also have to have the appropriate identification, there will be no access to any member of the public during the event."Now, I wonder what prompted them to come up with that? Several visits from my family concerning the sonic attack we endured last time?
