Comic Delivery Catch-Up

patentdragonYesterday was Comic Delivery day, so there was plenty of reading matter to cram in before my unexpected night out...
Highlights: Elfquest - The Discovery #3 - Great to see a regular (albeit limited) Elfquest series again!
Civil War #1 - The big event from Marvel hits the shelves, and...
...wel, it's a brave step to make, but hey, The New Warriors didn't kill anyone. Nitro did - he chose to detonate (for those going "Huh?", it's what he does). The guy is frigging lethal, and the US Government let him escape from a substandard prison, along with a couple of dozen other super-villains.
I look forward, in Civil War #7, to seeing SHIELD Director Hill kissing Captain America's ass just before her ass strikes sparks off the freaking street, propelled out the door by Nick Fury's boot...
But the winner is...
Nextwave #5 - Holy crap, this continues to be hilarious!
..."See what we mean? Complete and utter ****."
..."Widdle cuddly bears...of death?"
..."Ha. Fear my robot head."

There is too much grim sh!t around, and this is the antidote. Kick ass, dude.
Stinker of The Month: Lady Death - Abandon All Hope #4 - zZzZzZzZz...
Oh, sorry - didn't know they were still screwing around with successful character's origins and personalities just to try and get more readers, but all they manage to actually do is alienate the readers they'd hung on to. If you're going to p!ss around with characters, at least do it with style - like Nextwave ;-)
