So much for "a post every day" - been trying to do that all year, and I'm failing miserably. To be honest, I'd much rather post half a dozen decent entries in a month than spew half-assed garbage just to meet some meaningless target. I value my free time too much right now to waste it on something I fell asleep at the keyboard half a dozen times trying to scrape together.
Anyway...
Last night saw the "kick-off" for the latest Ultima Online expansion, "Stygian Abyss". After the patches from the start of the week, all that was needed was upgrade codes, and I was ready to roll, and within minutes, I had a "bench-sitter" character transformed into a Gargoyle, with a bright future lying just over the horizon...
Well, not quite. A LOT of the new stuff is dependent on the Gargoyle lands of Ter Mur, and the way in is neither easy to find, nor is actually gaining entry a walk in the park volcano. I eventually logged off, looking forward to forging ahead after helping The Parental in the garden... but the Europa server has been down all day, therefore I had to try the other European server, creating a brand new Gargoyle so that I could scout things out from the gargoyle world side. This was mildly successful, as I learned several things about the latest batch of new territory, but didn't quite get me the information I'd hoped to learn. Oh well, hopefully things will be fixed quickly.
Meanwhile... in between gardening stints, I was able to make some decent progress with MoN-203 "Mane-of-Night And The Wayward Child", pinning down the pivotal moment of the whole story. If UO doesn't play ball tonight, I'll be getting my head down and doing a full type-up, possibly even working through to the end of the chapter, which should lay the foundations for the rest of the story. Some times, it's good to find yourself close to the end of another writing journal.
One little nugget of pre-release - this chapter features the first ever spoken Mystalornan!
Coming VERY Soon... FOOTBALL!!!!
