And so, New Year's Eve creeps up upon us again, and all the retrospectives are being wheeled out...

...damn - I forgot we lost Arthur C Clarke, and Issac Hayes. I can think of maybe twenty "people", without really trying, who still walk the Earth, but are far from deserving of that honour. Most of them, however, will never receive ANY publicity here, and that includes a mention of their names.

I usually try to create a piece of art at the end of the year, to sign as the bells ring, but this year... let's just say that one of the first to die in 2009 will be personal freedom, courtesy of The Jane Longhurst Law. The one crime against humanity that will be conveniently lost in the background as people freak out about their post-Christmas credit card bills, and missed mortgage payments. Oh, but it's only "pr0n", so that's not a big deal, is it?

You bet it is. 1984 has come and gone, but 2112 looks like it's been moved forward at least a century. 2007 may have been my "Year Of Pain", but 2009 looks like being the "Year Of Lies" for everyone.

It'll be interesting to see how the Scottish version of the "law" progresses. Wouldn't it be great if it got booted out, and made Blair and Brown look even more stupid...?
