SIX Days To Go... (again!)

In Today's Episode... Darkhawk welcomes back a dear friend - but the news she brings is far from welcome - as the events of "The Secret Adventures of Mane-of-Night: A Darkening Tide" lead Mane-of-Night "back into the fold"...

Release Notes... 30 and counting...

Development News... Getting somewhere after several ineffective or semi-ineffective days, and there should be a "now hold everything" moment coming up at the end of this story.

Meanwhile... There's all kindsa Doctor Who theories bouncing around in my head, some even in an envelope on the mantlepiece waiting for next Saturday. Allow me to share those theories...

1) The Doctor's regeneration (There, see? Told you there were spoilers...) at the end of "The Stolen Earth", hereafter referred to as "TSE", will NOT progress to completion - the energy involved will either be a crucial part of The Crucible ("all the pieces are falling into place", said Davros), or will flow into someone else (see 2), below). In either case, his life will be saved, and David Tennant's involvement with the series extended, by reabsorbing the severed hand from "The Christmas Invasion", rather glaringly focussed upon when we first see the interior of the Tardis in "TSE".

2) At the headquarters of The Shadow Proclamation, Donna sits deep in thought - and there's a heartbeat in the background, with what seems like an echo - fans have been wondering if Donna is somehow a Time-Lady... and I think they're right. How else could the Trickster-beetle from Episode 11, "Turn Left", cause a parallel reality to come into being around someone who seems so mundane?

But no, boys and girls, she's not Romana - remember how River Song reacted to her name in Episode 8, "Silence In The Library" (or was it Episode 9, "Forest Of The Dead")? That looked like horror or alarm to me. I'm going to propose that Donna is actually The Rani, the evil female Time-Lord from the Colin Baker / Sylvester McCoy days. Donna NOBLE? Not a co-incidence, methinks...

It's going to take TWO Time-Lords to stop Davros and his new Dalek Empire.

3) Oh, and this becomes possible because Donna is adopted, hence her mother's outspoken disappointment - but Wilf doesn't know. There's a heart waiting to be broken, and not the last one...

4) This season is due to end in tears, or so we've been told - so I'm thinking that Donna/The Rani kills Rose (for real and for good), before running off with Captain Jack's teleport / time bracelet and Miss Foster's sonic pen (thoughtlessly discarded in Episode 1, "Partners In Crime"). And so, "The Quest For The Rani" begins, as a heartbroken and betrayed Doctor goes after the last remaining Time-Lord, his bitterest enemy and the last hope for his people...

5) Oh, and (possible wild stab in the dark) The Osterhagen Key opens the storage facility that holds The Rani's Tardis.

Watch for the "scorecard" next week...
