Errrr - So, Now What?
12 Aug 2010 23:57In the midst of a big evening of Ultima Online - and yes, I've gone into "screen-saver mode" more than once. Not much of a surprise when you've dug up a shadow iron elemental for pet training, which can be a bit of a tedious grind...
Oh, hold on - it gets exciting when your training partner loses their connection, but now I'm finished for tonight. What else is there, then...?
Development News... The current story development situation can be frustrating at times, but in truth it sort of needs to go this way to accommodate future storylines. There's a team who are absolutely pivotal to one storyline - one member is going to have a big part to play in the future - and you just have to introduce them somehow.
I may take a page out of the Doctor Who play-book, and have the next "season" made up of "specials", self-contained stories or mini-arcs - the equivalent of comic book "limited series". This kind of retargetting of development could better than the current approach... well, we'll have to see.
Of course, it's a whole lot better to actually do the writing than just talk about it, and therein lies another problem. I'm still thinking I could do with a proper break, a "writing retreat" of sorts...
