The List

Completed... No new completions this month, but the weather is turning, and opportunities will arise...

In Progress... All the monthly tasks are on course - I do a stir-fry a month (Task 9), I saw The African Queen last Sunday (and The Cockleshell Heroes this Monday) (Task 28), I picked up The Greatest Show On Earth by Richard Dawkins (Task 29). The walking regime (Task 3) continues, but occasional lapses in Task 2 - Eat more sensibly are perhaps impeding Task 1 - Lose a meaningful amount of weight (10kg). Naughty...

I have managed to combine Task 57 - Design and establish new personal web-site, with actual content - with Task 65 - Celebrate each and every Spiritwalk (May 22) and Patent Saturday (December 1) like they really mean something (which they do!) by officially declaring THEPatentDragon.com open on the 22nd. So far, there's only a blog there, but the capacity exists for FAR more. Stay tuned!

One of the Tasks I'm most looking forward to completing is Number 90 - Go to at least five concerts, and in May, I bagged my first! Kiss at the Glasgow Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre on the 9th - I've reviewed the show in my own blog should this interest anybody.

Since then, I've managed to make arrangements for Concert #2 - Seasick Steve at Perth Concert Hall on the 1st of August - making this the Task most likely to succeed, if I achieve my intended completion rate of two shows per full year, and one for the part-year January to September 2012. Insane - my Kiss ticket was a birthday present, but the rest I'll have to pay for myself, and if I factor in accommodation and travel costs, this comes out as one of the more expensive tasks...

New Tasks! As of 22nd May, I added Task 94 - Make a PD-worthy pair of boots from scratch! I had considered customising a pair of platforms for the Kiss show, but couldn't find anything affordable in time - and they really needed a full costume anyway. I've been working with leather recently, and if I find the right patterns or basic techniques, I must just give it a go...

In closing... Work has limited some of my progress, but in return, it's granted me the funds to pursue some tasks more dilligently. Getting the new web-site underway gives me some additional options I didn't have before. I continue to be confident I won't have to shell out too much at the end of September 2012...

As always, stay tuned for regular updates! Also, watch for posts at:

It looks like the funding for New Work might be drying up, meaning work might get cut back to about a week a month (or a fortnight every two months) - and I'm going to be honest here, and say I'm terrified of going back to the ranks of the unemployed. And I don't just mean the money.

Just thought I'd get that out.
