Okay, that's TDD-510 "Knight To King, Checkmate" effectively "in the bag", pending last-minute revision - and there are several hints at things to come in the final paragraphs, including a "spur of the moment" addition to the story that will have considerable consequences in Season Six.

Meanwhile... There was a repeat of "Journey's End" this evening, but I haven't officially watched it again yet. Maybe tomorrow...

This just in... nearly 9.5 million viewers - "JE" could be the most watched programme on UK TV this week. Wheeee!

Doctor Who 413 "Journey's End" gets viewing figures that would rule the week if it hadn't been for Wimbledon, and all you can do is quote some message boards to illustrate how the season finale got a "mixed response from fans". Oh, and mention the 9.4 million viewers right at the very end.

I'll bet there were people disappointed by the men's singles final 'cause Federer didn't win. Bet you won't report how the game got a "mixed response" from tennis fans as a result, will you? I'm sure I could go to some pro-Federer message board and find you plenty of evidence, if you like...

Oh, and Russell T. Davies was RIGHT - sticking the show on at 7pm, as was done numerous times throughout the season, DID hurt the ratings, and don't try to blame it all on soccer or "talent" show finals.

Some people just need a good slap sometimes...

Development News...TDD-511 "The Endless Dance of Light and Shadow III" - the penultimate story of Season 5 - is now in production...

Expect something to be posted fairly soon, but I do want to be at least halfway through writing TDD-511 before I get started on posting TDD-510 "Knight To King, Checkmate".

And finally... Could it be that the whole Doctor Who finale masterplan was actually an attempt to save creation from endless releases of High School Musical? If so, it's almost a pity it failed...
