Okay, here comes the "checklist" (nearly spoiler free)...
There were five key points in my first bout of Doctor Who Season 4 final episode predictions (SPOILERS!) - so, let's see how they went:-
1) Not bad - pretty close...
2) Halfway there...
3) Nope
4) Not even close
5) Heh, some hope!
And then there was my BIG "Whoa!" concerning "The three-fold man", aaaand...
6) Errr, not quite - no big names, but there were three... of a sort.
About the episode itself... C'mon, you gotta love *SPOILER* German Daleks *END SPOILER*...
A feature(-ish) length episode featuring probably the grandest scheme in the entire history of sci-fi involving a weapon that makes the Death Star look like a pea-shooter. Now, how do a bunch of people in a Fifties police box deal with that...? One can only watch with sphincter limpeting you to your seat as the whole thing unfolds, using up probably half the season's budget on FX... hey, I can live with that.
Admittedly, this isn't quite the tear-jerker some had been suggesting it might be, although *SPOILER* what happened to Donna was really sucky - yet sadly necessary *END SPOILER*. There was adventure and explosions aplenty, and one or two genuine surprises, such as *SPOILER* the truth about Dalek Caan's involvement in the whole business *END SPOILER* All in all, a very enjoyable and satisfying conclusion to a very good season - roll on 2009's specials, and the first Moffat-helmed full series in 2010.
But first, Christmas, and *SPOILER* the Cybermen *END SPOILER* - should be fun...
And finally... Oh, and Martha Jones *SPOILER* nearly blew up the Earth *END SPOILER* - Martha Jones in da mutha-f**kin' HOUSE! (or should that be "Hub"...?)
