Bit late for a serious post, so...

That D&D movie sequel was actually better than the original (not very hard to do), but Superman II or Spidey 2 it certainly wasn't. If they'd tried to make the elf mage sexier, that would've helped.

Writing is going a whole heap better after the latest work-slot. Excellent.

Nights're warmer. A good sign...?

There - much better than bitching about the news. The planet's managing to get screwed up without me complaining about it.

Downer... Goodbye, and thank you Bo Diddley - yet another legend leaves a great raw hole in the world's creativity. I still don't see any replacments in the current generation - none of whom I expect to live to a total age of 79...

In Today's Episode... Mane-of-Night finds herself part of an unexpected team-up, and this opens doors as "A Darkening Tide" continues - but how much can she find out before someone finds out about her?

Release Notes... We've met Vaerynchae before, but only in passing - but not, unluckily, in passing away.

Development News... Things went pretty well today, despite a one-off courtesy change in my normal routine. I've been hoping to get a Darkhawk chapter written a day, but so far, that's been a bit optimistic. Progress is being made, and that's fine by me.

Meanwhile... Another teenager is dead in London - that makes something like 25 this year already. In 1996, 16 school children and their teacher were shot dead by the most notorious "gun nut" in British history, and hand-guns were banned from public ownership - but what does this government spend its time on? Screwing the poor for more tax, a fox-hunting ban, and the "Jane Longhurst Law".

It also appears that a woman who's been campaigning against guns and street violence since her son was murdered several years ago has just been stabbed to death - possibly by a juvenile relative. Banning and campaigning don't seem to do anything, so what next...?

This just in from the desk of Gordon "Poor-Basher" Brown: Britain is joining a large group of nations banning cluster bombs, which are apparently "unnecessary" following the Cold War, as people don't employ big columns of tanks any more. Now, I wonder why that might be the case? Something to do with cluster bombs, perhaps? Once this ban goes into effect, watch the market for tanks suddenly take off big-time - and watch the UK get offered a fleet of US A-10 tankbusters at a very reasonable discount.

Meanwhile... there'll still be plenty of cluster bomblets out there, but very few people willing to go and deal with them, after the welcome the last munitions clearance expert got such a friendly welcome in Iraq...

And don't get me started about Formula 1 boss Max Mosley. What the hell is the big problem? Him getting spanked? The prostitutes? The highly questionable reports of "Nazi-style sex" - I mean, just what is "Nazi-style sex"? If anything is hurting motorsport, it's the weeping and wailing about this story. Screw the votes and letters - if you want to fire the guy, just do it - but be prepared for a bunch of lawsuits...

Time for some research... and the whole business isn't exactly savoury, but it's interesting to note that the website of the newspaper responsible for the "scandal" features, on every page, a link labelled "Sell A Story". Makes you wonder how truthful a story can be when a nice juicy scandal can make you rich...

Okay, I'm done ranting. Time for something else, like Smallville.
