There is a growing tendancy, primarily in the media, to make the facts fit the currently accepted popularist theory: "there's global warming, so it must be because of human activity" is the classic example, and there's that whole business of "a little girl vanished from her villa in Spain, so it must be that British guy down the road", but now we have a new one: there's foot-and-mouth disease down in England, therefore it must be because there are vaccine labs just down the road.
Oh, spare me.
As far as all these cases are concerned, there are very few facts of any sort. That doesn't stop most people coming up with all kinds of bullshit, and how dare anyone suggest there might be a different cause, such as:-
(Example 1) natural climate change, which has happened before (if not, what happened to the mile-thick ice-sheet that covered most of Europe ten thousand years ago?),
(Example 2) any one of the thousands, maybe millions of sick, evil bastards native to continental Europe, or
(Example 3) viruses carried from who knows where by recent flooding (Remember that? Not exactly news any more, is it?)...
The accepted "facts" may end up being the truth after all, but so far, I've not seen the evedience and, in all honesty, I'm really starting to not care. Anyway...
In development... TDD-504 may be on the verge of becoming a prologue to the next MAIN story, for the sake of getting things moving again. A natural break is rapidly approaching, as Darkhawk digests what she's just learned, so maybe this is the best way to go...
