Had to swap out my speakers for the original set, as the set I'd been using were making unpleasant "I'm going to fail soon" sounds (and they frequently react alarmingly when the central heating goes on)...

...THEN, once I'd gotten through a lengthy patching process (but not as bad as the 120 meg+ for Ultima Online I experienced a few months ago), I was refamiliarising myself with Guild Wars when *POP* I was hit by a reboot. I was thinking "power spike", or even "oh holy shit, not that overheating thing from before Christmas AGAIN!", but even so, I powered up again after letting the PC close down properly, and up comes a "The system is recovering from a serious error" message.

My thinking is that maybe, just maybe, my graphics card drivers are now too out-of-date, as far as GW is concerned, which may just be the same thing that's stopping me from playing The Movies. Updating the drivers isn't going to be possible right now, as my CD drive is playing up...

Dammit, I DON'T want to have to send the PC away to get fixed AGAIN, especially when it took A MONTH to get the last problem fixed...

Better copy my project files to offline storage, just to be safe.
