A Nothing Day...?
27 Dec 2007 23:22Hmph. Nothing of any significance today. Most of the evening is an entertainment wasteland - a thing on the USS Indianapolis (shipped the first A-bomb, sunk by the Japanese, survivors preyed on by sharks - Quint talked about it in Jaws) can hardly be called entertainment. Come on, British TV - there are heaps of US shows deserving an airing, such as the several seasons of South Park that have built up since Channel Four decided it wasn't cool any more (about the same time a lot of quite shit comedians started getting "noticed")...
Anyway...
So, it looks like the New England Patriots are four quarters away from history. They can post the first 16-0 season ever, and quarterback Tom Brady can break the touchdown pass record - but the New York Giants can still ruin the day if they choose to. Personally, I'd be disgusted if a team like the Giants just rolled over and let the Patriots just help themselves to all those records.
Neither team needs to win, but neither wants to lose. I'd really like to see this game - even if it means that a victorious Giants team faces the Redskins in the first round of the playoffs having just collected the biggest scalp in the game's history...
Dammit, I'll get round to this trio of new CDs eventually.
