Laptop Status... Functional, but making unsettling noises at start-up. This has been my main machine since The Move, so maybe it's struggling to stand the strain - and therein lies something of a dilemma. I could attempt to upgrade the current desktop, but if that ends up dead, the laptop becomes a critical component of my IT system, which cannot be risked. My only fall-back is the netbook, and whilst that has been a quite exceptional purchase, can it withstand becoming the backbone of all operations...?
I find myself thinking back to a recent episode of The Gadget Show, where the presenters undertook a challenge to get themselves high-performance tech for £100 (I may have mentioned this before), and one of them managed to create a "media-centre" PC for the money - optical drive, big hard drive, HD graphics... but all brought together courtesy of her "tech-buddy", who built the sodding thing for her! My, how very handy...
Meanwhile... Wow! It's like birthday, Easter and Christmas all rolled into one, writing-wise - the start of MoN-302 title tba is typed up, as is the beginning of a short adventure for The Challenger!
It's no surprise, therefore, that I've started on a new writing book. The first to feature an up-to-date glued-in sheet of "must know" information...!
