Why all this foaming frenzy of indignation about Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand? Right now, even the Prime Minister is wading in - doesn't he have anything better to do, like... oh, maybe the impending recession, and the free-falling banks? Okay, maybe their "comedy" involving Andrew "Manuel from 'Fawlty Towers'" Sachs's answer-phone went a bit too far, but now the furious backlash is almost as bad. Please, let's just have earnest apologies, and maybe some charity appearances for some of Mr Sachs's favourite causes, and let that be that. Surely the Government can't be that desperate to deflect attention... oh, wait - of course they are!
