Gonna keep this one short and (semi-)sweet, as I really want to get some writing in - or at least some type-up. The Holiday is now into "damage limitation" mode, as one near day-long event is consigned to the junk-pile, given that the only slot it can now fit in is the first full day of the holiday, and I am not going to do several hours' additional travelling on Day 1 Proper. It's pretty much back to Square One, all the same...
Elsewhat... Mars Rover Curiosity has landed safely, despite fears that the radical "sky-crane" technology was too likely to fail. Cue, as one can see from the comments section, a bunch of people bitching about the cost "when there are people starving in Africa, and we have Global Warming etc etc etc..." - and how much as these Luddites giving in charitable donations to their pet causes? This mission, which should generate fascinating discoveries for a decade or more, costs far, FAR less than the Government(s) have spent in a year bailing out self-crippled banks - oh, and the money CAN'T be diverting into funding speedboats and machine guns for African pirates.
:P
Okay, now the writing... and working out just what kind of wild stuff I can fit into the evenings when I'm away. >:)
