NOT My "Funday".
3 Oct 2010 22:51Technology genuinely doesn't like me this weekend. I'm starting to think the only way I'll get any writing done at the weekends is to get out of the house, and get the hell away from technology. Screwy digital TV boxes, TV remotes with leaking batteries...
You are such a whiny bastard. Now hush.
*thinks positive thoughts...* The opening of the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, India wasn't the squalid mess a lot of people seemed to be expecting - I was actually unaware that the Monsoon season had continued far longer than normal for the first time in decades, and might have contributed to the problems chronicled a couple of weeks ago. I think the ceremony went over just fine - India doesn't need to try as hard as, say, China did for the Olympics. This doesn't mean the UK will get off lightly in 2012 - too many people are already writing our Olympics off, monsoon or no.
Also, good news - the Lost Lands of The Tiger mini-series from a couple of weeks ago that was never shown in its entirety in Scotland will get shown after all, starting next Sunday. We saw the first of the three programmes, and it was good. Various sightings and other good stuff are due to follow.
And finally... Dammit, I am so out of touch with Aussie Rules - so much so that it came as a total surprise that my team, the Collingwood Magpies, were not only in the Grand Final this year, but went ahead and WON IT.
It would've been nice to be on the winning side for a change, if you see what I mean...
