Latest on The Cumbria Shootings... Unarmed police officers had "no opportunity" to stop killer of twelve Derrick Bird.

If they'd had (gasp) GUNS, they could have disabled his vehicle, forcing him to continue on foot, at which point he could have been more easily neutralised. Result? Maybe ten lives saved, several injuries prevented...?

Pity the handgun bans after Dunblane mean that there are less potential recruits with the requisite high quality handgun skills. You'd just have to do with teenagers proficient in Halo or Call Of Duty.

It's easy to be cynical, isn't it - especially when you get so much great material.

Here's another one from the preposterous kingdom of "Ban-A-Lot": the truly awful and unfortunate attack on two baby twins by an urban fox - could this perhaps be a side-effect of the New Liebour fox-hunting ban? Foxes have next to no competition as Britain's top predator - feral cats and dogs are nothing compared to the wolves, bears and lynxes we used to have - and fox-hunting was the only, perhaps imperfect, means of controlling them...

...but no, New Liebour and their lefty followers just had to give the "posh folks" a punch on the nose, by taking away their jolly countryside frolics, in fancy dress with dozens of baying hounds, gleefully tearing innocent foxes to pieces. Taking a shot at the posh was all that mattered, and the foxes will regulate their own numbers anyway, won't they?

Like arse they will. No controls means more foxes. More foxes means more competition for food. More competition means foxes have to take more risks, such as hunting and scavenging in towns and cities... and when an "urban" fox gets trapped in a house, it panics. The result is two babies with bite injuries to the arms and faces. But still, the posh can't wear their pretty red jackets and expensive riding boots any more, can they? Oh yes, all is well - I bloody don't think.

But still, you've got to laugh... some stupid idiot tried to steal LIVE electrical cable. Justice moves in mysterious ways, doesn't it?
