Splendid... a hung Parliament, and over three cents off the pound versus the dollar today. Add to that the several added weeks of indecision, and the potential for one or other of the unemployed-hating parties getting some hold on power, and it really has been one shitty evening for democracy.

At least it won't last.

I'd much rather see a government of national unity to get us out of this recession, and back to some sense of normality, but the logic gulf in British politics will surely be too great for that idea to get anywhere. And woe betide the Lib Dems should they cosy up to New Liebour, and keep them afloat - people are already not all that happy that the opinion polls and the final result totally failed to bear any resemblance to each other, and those same people would feel sorely betrayed should the Lib Dems end up supporting the defeated, humiliated Labour goons.

Still, there's some good news - the racists got thrashed, and the Greens got their first MP. Oh, and there's this...

...KISS -2

So close you can almost taste it.
