Decision Time...?
14 Apr 2010 01:48Oh Joy, It's More Sh8 About The Election... New Liebour's "punch the unemployed" bombshell has made it crystal clear what the "key issue" in the election has to be (IMHO). The unemployed have very swiftly become the Great Satan in this campaign - it's like that garish embroidered tablecloth your granny gave you, which you only wheel out when you absolutely have to, and which stays hidden at the back of the drawer the rest of the time. The economy is in the shitter, so let's find a scapegoat, shall we...?
Here's the bottom line: sensible policies concerning reducing unemployment are all well and good, but there is a disturbing tendancy in UK politics to "talk tough", and dig up a few juicy threats, like New Liebour's after "two years take this job or lose your money", following fast on the heels of "the unemployed should fear a Labour win at the election". Pardon me, but what the f97k is that supposed to mean?
The politics of fear are the politics of tyranny.
( The runners and riders are... )
All very interesting. That rather narrows the field - some clarification would be welcome...
