Gadget Review... Polaroid Pogo "Zink" Mini-Printer: Well, this is something I've been meaning to get for a few months now, since a journaling website suggested it as a neat way to illustrate journeys and other events, turning photos into neat 2"x3" sticker-prints. Smaller in footprint than a Pocket-format Moleskine, and about half again as thick - digital camera-sized - the Pogo takes about an hour (for me) to charge up, then it's a breeze to load the paper, with the important blue sheet at the bottom of the paper stack, and hook the device up to a PictBridge-enabled camera...
Wow. Yes, the prints are small, but from a high-res photo, this gadget produces some very nice images. You want more, such as photo album-worthy prints, then might I suggest a more serious desktop printer - but I bet those prints aren't waterproof, smearproof AND self-adhesive...
My only niggle: I bought a Bluetooth adapter to allow me to connect directly between the Pogo and a PC, but the process didn't exactly work out, and a somewhat torturous process involving my camera was required to get pictures not on the camera to print. I just wish there was a facility for a straight PC to Pogo USB connection - a slightly larger device to accommodate that wouldn't be such a big deal.
The Short Version...: Low-priced fun, but the results can be pleasantly surprising. Interface is a bit fiddly, but can be overcome with file-juggling. 4/5
