Ah bugger - blown it, and not even a week into the month. Not going to stress about it - just pick up the pieces and try to make it through the rest of the month intact.

In any case, things weren't at all bad today (yesterday) - the rain never even tried, and my great-aunt's journey through the health system could, at last, be about to come to an end. Hopefully, that means an end to the stress for those who've been busting their asses to sort it all out - and I don't mean the NHS.

True Blood (Channel 4) hasn't been pushed as comprehensively as Flash Forward (Five), but there has been plenty of "buzz" about the former. Apparently based on a series of books I haven't heard of, True Blood seems much beloved by the critics - normally not a good sign - and now that the end credits have rolled on the first of the series, I can say that this is another show that'll be well worth watching, although I don't quite see this having as much in the way of "legs" as Flash Forward. If True Blood manages to do something new with the whole vampire thing, apart from the whole "vampires in the real world" raison-d'etre of the show, then we could be onto something, but at present, the "low-fi" set-up in a small Southern town with characters to match should manage to maintain a decent level of interest.

To the creators - you have my attention. Now don't screw it up.

Development News... Managed about two paragraphs as today became yet another of those days buggered up by the rush to get our particular corner of the world back in order. I don't mind being called upon to help things along - the least I can do - but everyone involved hates the idea of being assumed to be hovering by the phone, waiting to spring into action whenever the slightest thing comes up. It certainly doesn't help when people in authority whom you have the common decency to do a favour can't keep a f**king appointment, or return a f**king phone-call...

Think I'll break into MoN-203 "Mane-of-Night And The Wayward Child" on Saturday. At standard posting rate, I hardly think I'll catch up with myself (wishful thinking?).
