Okay *sighs heavily*... so what else can possibly go screwy?
First of all, the USB wireless thingy: it's been getting me a very good signal strength, and connection speed, but why does everything I try want to make a dial-up connection? It seemed to make several things, including Ultima Online, hang and crash unexpectedly, but just when I was at my wits' end, I found the "kill-switch" that has shut up the connection requests, and Gaia Online's "ZOMG" "MMORPG", my barometer of bugginess, has been running just fine. Next, I try UO again, and if that works okay, I may just be able to declare "Problem Solved".
I hope.
No writing today, because of the hassle. I'll try and move ahead with that later, maybe tomorrow. I also need to pursue a solution to the laptop problem, but I'm too stressed by everything else right now.
