Speed - Best from wireless...
Signal Strength - Excellent (5/5)...
...why?
I'm downstairs, not up in the freezing cold "Dragon-lair". Second Life runs as it did when I started, Ultima Online appears to be playable at better-than-dial-up capacity, downloads are nice and fast again...
Could it be something to do with the defrag I carried out last night? Well, the situation appeared to be unchanged after that was done, and this morning there was pretty much no connection to be had, until I rebooted. Ever since, things have been "Excellent" (-ish).
Weird. Must wiki something on wireless internet - maybe there's something I can do to help things along.
Elsewhat... I had been planning to do some PnP writing during my lie-in, but I came away from last night in not the best mood, so it didn't materialise. Instead, I watched a couple of episodes from the Star Trek Original Series Season 3 box-set that arrived in the post yesterday - namely "Spock's Brain" and "The Enterprise Incident", two of my all-time favourites. Sweeeet.
