Olympic Opening Day 'Hawk Report

Development News... Okay, so MoN-108 "...Jacks And Queens" isn't going to be finished this week, due to a last-minute development glitch (which is just about sorted). I'll put in extra work this weekend, and get the story done before I've finished posting TDD-510, at the very latest.

Elsewhat... I'd half-expected something to go Wrong (as in worse that plain, ordinary "wrong", but not as bad as WRONG, if you get my drift) at the opening of the Olympics, but instead we got quite a show. The firework "footprints" I found particularly impressive, as well as the endurance of the "cheerleaders" during the march-past of athletes...

Meanwhile, some people are just so pathetic - someone sent in an e-mail or the like to one of the teletext letters pages saying "Thank god for BB and the footie. I'm bored with the Olympics already." Kinda sums up modern Britain, doesn't it?

I get the feeling 2012 in London will be a shocking embarrassment, if that's what passes for "Olympic Spirit" in this country. I can see the highlight of the opening ceremony, the epitome of Britain culture - one huge drunken brawl, with 2012 stabbing incidents...

Not Quite As Planned

It's been a more relaxed Saturday than I'd anticipated, with very little writing getting done to this point. I've not exactly been actively watching the Olympics, but it has been on "in the background" almost all day.

Thankfully (hopefully!), something came in the post today that should blunt The F'king System's claws for another fortnight, making Monday a lot less daunting prospect.

Okay, back to work tomorrow (or maybe tonight, if I get to "bed" early enough)...
