Short Bits

Looks like the new X-Files might be about to bomb. I'm not surprised, given that the show survived several seasons that probably shouldn't have been made. The concept ground to a halt about the time of the first movie, and the "master plan" this time round to keep everything about this new movies secret (such as the fact it was actually being made) which only served to encourage people not to even bother. True, this movie comes out at a difficult time, with The Dark Knight continuing to reign triumphant, but let's face it, everyone - after Dale, Ledger and co, the perfect antidote is WALL-E, not Mulder and Scully...

Hmmm - guess that wasn't quite as short as I'd expected.

Expected, AND Received!

In Today's Episode... A "baptism of fire" awaits Over/Strike as the enemy they were built to face comes spoiling for a fight. Who wins? What are the consequences? Questions asked, and maybe answered in the latest chapter of "Knight To King - Checkmate".

Release Notes... Space battles are never easy - and that goes double when the combatants are a mile-tall robot and a gigantic god-squid...

Development News... MoN-108 "...Jacks And Queens" reaches a VERY important moment; that crest of the drop before the roller-coaster really hits top speed. Once I insert a character description for A Major Character, that'll be another chapter done, and much of the scene set for the story finale!

And The Rest... However, writing has been aided, then interrupted by two deliveries today - another swiftly-filled order from those nice Amazon people (mmmm, Doctor Who Season 3 soundtrack...), then this month's parcel of comics and related goodies!

As far as the comics go, the "first pass" reveals a heap of Secret Invasion tie-ins that, in explaining how and when certain characters got replaced, is actually more interesting than the core title, which really doesn't seem to be going anywhere at any great pace, and it's halfway through, as of this month! There's also a couple of issues of a Star Trek "Mirror Universe" mini-series, detailing Kirk's rise to captaincy of ISS Enterprise, and which has some fun stuff in it.

Pity it's been raining pretty much all day. At least I got a serious lie-in out of it.
