In Our Headline Story Tonight... I only just heard about Arthur C. Clarke's death. In this day and age, when it's the fashion to predict a nightmarish future, there are too few who give us a "light at the end of the tunnel" to look forward to - Arthur C. Clarke was one of them.

This is a far more important story than the payout to Paul MacCartney's ex, but people will still be bleating on about that divorce tomorrow, while Arthur C. Clarke will already be passing into memory - and that stinks.

There goes another legend. How I hate writing that.
