"Stupid Season" Opens...

...the latest wave of Doctor Who rumours, in particular the usual crap about the "next Doctor Who". Unfortunately, there is a certain amount of precedent associated with such rumours, as people were talking about the imminent departure of Billie "Rose Tyler" Piper last year... right up 'til it was confirmed. The previous year, the show was stung right in the ass when Christopher Eccleston was revealed to be leaving the title role - and that was days after the first episode of Season One aired. Please, let's just have one year without this kind of screwing around. Also...
...two great banes of intelligent TV rear their ugly heads in unison: "reality shows" and "celebrities". Last year, this unholy conjunction featured a fake celebrity - and she won. Can't it get any worse? If I believed in religion, I'd be praying "no".
I'm sure there's gonna be a whole lot more, but d'you know what? I have far more worthy things to bother about, and there is so much that promises to be good this year - for a start, several movies I can think of, involving superheroes, pirates, and polar bears...
