A Fitting End...
9 Mar 2006 01:58I'm still seething a little (probably more like simmering) about how disappointing the finale of Enterprise was - but tonight/last night, a show that some may discount as a Trek wannabe showed the Mighty Franchise how it should be done...
Farscape got a rough deal, cancelled with a cliff-hanger leaving the story stranded - but then a cancelled show spawned a mini-series - The Peacekeeper Wars - that not only dealt with the cliffhanger, but capped off the series as a whole with a satisfying conclusion. I only managed to see the whole of TPW on Wednesday night, and for me, the wait was worth it.
Great characters, bizarre stories - if you haven't watched Farscape before, I recommend that you remedy that urgently. Just make sure to watch from the beginning...
Meanwhile... Holy crap, I think I may just have found the perfect actress to play Mane-of-Night - in Aussie soap "Neighbours" of all places! Her name is Dichen Lachman, she's half-Tibetan, half-Australian, and it was the combination of her eyes and the shape of her face that put her in pole position, ahead of Linda Park (Hoshi in Enterprise - the previous front-runner and star of the banner for the "cross-fic" that's coming soon) and Morena (Inarra in Firefly) Baccarin.
Pics are not easy to come by, but you can get some idea from an interview on the BBC web-site. I'll arrange a decent cast-sheet sometime (just not over the next week).
