This whole sorry broadband story just KEEPS ON RUNNING. The rather cack-handed way this switch-back has been handled i.e. not done by me, means that we could be without a phone service for about a week, and that means being without anything approaching secure internet for at least that time. Yes, the library has internet facilities, but the security is months, if not YEARS out of date, and that reminds me of another library, which seems like a lifetime ago, with its woefully out-of-date anti-virus software - guess they were too busy spending money on Cyber Patrol, only to find out that the students already knew how to get around it...
The current broadband supplier sent us a letter telling us of how they intended to terminate our service in about ten days - and the letter was dated a week ago. They cost me a UO aquarium full of fish, or the services of ANY of my vendors, and I'll start naming them. Oh yes, I'll start naming them...
And I continue to take NO BLAME for this mess. I wasn't even there when it started - and that's a fact.
I may have to investigate this latest innovation, "mobile broadband", in order to stay connected. Could be useful...
